M’eat The Vegans: A Flavourful, Globetrotting Vegan Feast

Article written by: Penny Eau

Craving Indian? Caribbean? Maybe Mexican? If indecision is your worst enemy when choosing dinner, M’eat The Vegans is the perfect solution. Whether you’re vegan or simply curious, this Camden gem offers a bold, diverse menu that ensures no one leaves disappointed.

M’eat The Vegans takes an ambitious approach, boasting five separate menus—Indian, Pan Asian, Mexican, American, and Caribbean—plus a tempting dessert menu. Yet, rather than feeling overwhelming, each menu is carefully curated to highlight authentic flavours while remaining completely plant-based. We sampled dishes from the Indian, Mexican, and Caribbean menus, along with dessert, and found every plate beautifully presented and packed with flavour.

Starters: A Strong First Impression

We kicked things off with Punjabi Samosas and Chaat from the Indian menu and Jackfruit Wings from the Mexican selection. The samosas were golden and crisp, with a warmly spiced filling, while the chaat was a vibrant mix of flavours — tangy chutney, a touch of sweetness, and a luxurious dollop of cream tying everything together. The jackfruit wings impressed us with their flaky breading and satisfyingly meaty texture.

Mains: Hearty, Bold, and Satisfying

For mains, we opted for the Butter Chicken Tikka Masala from the Indian menu and the Goat Curry from the Caribbean menu. Both dishes arrived in generous portions with distinct, deeply layered flavours. The Butter Chicken had that signature creamy, spiced richness, while the Goat Curry was robust, served with fragrant rice, plantains, and green beans that added a fresh, slightly sweet contrast.

We were offered either rice or naan with the Indian curry, though we were disappointed to learn that ordering both wasn’t an option — even as an add-on. A minor drawback but worth noting for those who enjoy pairing curries with both staples.

Dessert: A Sweet Finale

To finish, we indulged in a slice of Jaffa Cake and two milkshakes—strawberry and Biscoff. The Jaffa Cake was a nostalgic treat for a longtime vegan: an airy sponge, a lusciously gooey orange layer, and a rich chocolate frosting. The milkshakes were pure decadence, with the Biscoff shake being a standout thanks to the extra touch of cookie butter drizzled around the glass.

Ambience & Service: A Few Tweaks Could Elevate the Experience

The restaurant’s vibrant décor and eclectic artwork celebrate its globally inspired menu, creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere. However, one minor downside was the playlist — it seemed to be on a loop of about eight songs, which we heard three times during our meal. A more expansive, all-vegan artist playlist could have set a better tone.

That said, the service was fast, friendly, and attentive, rounding out an overall fantastic experience.

Final Thoughts: A Must-Visit for Vegan (and Non-Vegan) Foodies

If you don’t want to limit meal to just one cuisine, M’eat The Vegans is an excellent choice. With a bold, creative, and entirely plant-based menu, this Camden hotspot is a must-visit for vegans and non-vegans alike. Whether craving creamy curries, smoky Caribbean spices, or indulgent desserts, this restaurant delivers an exciting culinary journey — no passport required.
