Celebrating Amy Winehouse at 40

The star would have turned 40 today

Amy Winehouse would have had her 40th birthday today, September 14th. The music world, combining musicians and her fans alike, remember Amy for her talent and what she brought to the world.

Her songs, including the hits Back To Black, Rehab, Valerie and Tears Dry On Their Own, led to her being one of the most recognised voices of a generation.

Amy Winehouse passed away on July 23rd 2011 at her home in Camden Town at the age of 27.

A bronze statue of Amy was erected in Camden Stables Market on September 14th 2014, the day she would have turned 31.

Having played many of the venues in Camden Town and been a local at many of the restaurants, venues, and pubs in the area, Amy is still very much considered to the the Queen of Camden.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation was set up to help thousands of young people to feel supported and informed, so that they are better able to manage their emotional wellbeing and make informed choices around things that can affect their lives.

Thank you for the music, Amy.
