Live Music in Camden Town at Elephant’s Head

Camden’s famous pub also hosts live music nights. We caught up with them to find out more.

Elephants Head is known by many visitors to Camden Town as a great pub, but now you’re putting on more live music. Tell us about the idea of supporting live music.

It’s about playing into the history of Camden and the pub itself. There was a time every pub had bands on for free. We have a background in music and promoting and it was a real opportunity for us to be able to create and book what we thought was right. It’s also important that it’s always free entry too. Everything is really expensive, and we’re expecting young people to keep visiting pubs while the price of everything goes up. Being able to be a proper grass roots music venue where people can get in for free is really important.

Which sort of artists can people expect to see perform at your Elephants Head Music Nights?

We’re open to anything really. We lean towards guitar based bands, but have put on music across various genres. The main thing is that it’s good. We try and focus on putting one band a night on. Sometimes we add a few extra, but it’s about making sure the band/artists get looked after.

Where can people go to find out who’s playing, and to see the live shows?

Instagram mainly, but all out listings are on the website. Also come to the pub and ask. We’re a pub at the end of the day. We’ve got honest burgers and deliver food to the tables. So come in. The bar is open until 2am every night.
