Brazilian star to play in Camden
With her rich, evocative and smoky voice and gentle blend of bossa nova and electronica, Bebel Gilberto has been enchanting fans and critics worldwide for almost 40 years and the Brazilian singer is set to make a welcome return to London in October.
Bebel presents a brand-new show interpreting the songs of her father, João Gilberto, who passed away in 2019 after a 70-year career in music, and is widely regarded as the ‘father of Bossa Nova music’.
It was following the release of 2000’s Tanto Tempo, which was nominated for two Latin Grammys and sold over a million copies, that she was launched into the mainstream and became widely regarded as one of the preeminent Brazilian vocalists of modern times.
Bebel has gone on to perform at prestigious concert halls, arenas and festivals around the globe and her music has been featured on numerous film soundtracks and TV shows including Eat Pray Love, Rio, Sex And The City and Six Feet Under.
Gilberto plays in Camden, an area rich in music heritage with some of the most characteristic venues in the UK. KOKO in Camden (previously called The Music Machine and Camden Palace) is a concert venue and former theatre.
